Bridging Cultures Through Mindfulness Meditation and Creativity.
Self-empathy and empathy require our efforts.
This piece showcases a sculpture I created for the βArt & Mindfulness: Virtual Program for Creativity and Well-being,β which I've designed and offer to companies.
I crafted this artwork in a group setting, alongside my students, following a 15-minute mindfulness meditation.
The Mindfulness Meditation Practice. Meditation entails focusing inward with compassion and without judgment. By cultivating heightened awareness of our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, we gain deeper insight into ourselves and our needs. This fosters a more compassionate and kind relationship with ourselves, promoting self-acceptance and emotional regulation. This practice nurtures empathy for others, enhancing our social well-being.
The Art of Creation Exercise. We reinterpreted the work of Hans Silvester, featuring a Mursi youth in Africa.
Creating a sculpture of a young African Mursi, adorned with painted flowers, is an endeavor on various levels: human, cultural, artistic and naturalistic empathy.
Thank you for reading.
