The influences of artists upon other artists. This time, the work of the woman photographer, Julia Margaret Cameron (1815-1879, British India), amazed me. She has an astonishing body of art. And by the way, she knew well many characters of her time, such as Virginia Woolf, and Alice Liddell, who, as we may know, was the child muse of the shadowy Lewis Carrol, and whom inspired him to write “Alice in Wonderland”.

I based my work on her photo, “Thomas Carlyle” (1867), who was Cameron’s friend, philosopher, historian, and a teacher. (2)
